Spanish Wells has always been more than a golf club, it's a place where neighbors become friends, families celebrate milestones, and members gather to enjoy the best of Lowcountry living.

We're excited to share the vision for the next chapter of our Clubhouse.

Designed with today's members in mind while respecting the character and history of Spanish Wells, the renovation will create a warm, welcoming destination that enhances every visit, from your morning coffee before a round to dinner with friends, special events, and community gatherings.

The new Clubhouse will offer more opportunities to relax, connect, dine, and celebrate, creating a space that members can enjoy for generations to come.

Highlights of the New Clubhouse

❋ Expanded Indoor & Outdoor Living

The redesigned Clubhouse features generous covered porches, outdoor seating, and gathering spaces that embrace Hilton Head's beautiful waterfront setting. Whether enjoying lunch after golf or an evening cocktail, members will have comfortable spaces to enjoy the outdoors year-round.

❋ A Modern Dining Experience

The renovation introduces an expanded kitchen and service area designed to elevate food and beverage offerings. New preparation areas, improved workflow, additional storage, and updated equipment will allow the Club to better serve everyday dining as well as larger events and member celebrations.

❋ Outdoor Bar & Entertainment

A new exterior bar and expanded rear porch create an inviting destination overlooking the grounds, offering the perfect setting for post-round refreshments, live entertainment, social gatherings, and relaxed evenings with friends.

❋ New Indoor Social Spaces

The redesigned Main Salon and Daily Salon create flexible spaces for casual dining, member events, holiday celebrations, meetings, and private functions. Large openings and abundant natural light help connect the interior with the surrounding outdoor spaces.

❋ Classic Lowcountry Architecture

The exterior has been reimagined with timeless Lowcountry materials and detailing, including:

  • Metal roofing

  • Savannah brick accents

  • Hardie plank siding

  • Expansive covered porches

  • Updated windows and doors

  • Traditional architectural detailing

The result is a clubhouse that feels both familiar and refreshed while blending beautifully with the natural surroundings.

Our mission is to provide a warm, welcoming clubhouse where members, families, and their dogs feel truly at home, overlooking one of Hilton Head Island’s most beautiful views of the Calibogue Sound and nightly sunsets. As a not‑for‑profit club, we strive to deliver an exceptional experience to every member while keeping monthly costs remarkably low for everything our club has to offer.

Since 1969, our club has fostered an atmosphere rooted in community, comfort, and connection in this unique waterfront setting. We will continue reinvesting all monies earned and raised through club operations directly back into the club so we can keep improving, growing, and building on the wonderful foundation we already share.

This renovation is not intended to replace the character and spirit that make our clubhouse special, but to enhance what we have created, preserving the familiar “backyard” feel and sunset views our members love while improving the space for generations to come.
